Too many families and friends have experienced the effects of PTSD on a first-hand basis. Unfortunately with the passing of a dear friend, Jacob S. Thomas, veteran of the 173 Airborne Brigade, these effects hit-home too.

We want to take our mission to another level. In order to create an ample way to help our veterans, we must wholly understand the hardships our veterans are facing, and where support is lacking. BeesWELL (Shannon and Ron) are bicycling on the east coast seeking out veterans to speak with, listen to, and document their stories. In memory of Jacob, starting mid-September, we will take on “Operation Jake”. There is not only one solution to the complexities of PTSD, but there are gaps that can be filled. We aim to bring some valuable, comprehensive information back home, so that when our vets come home we can give them the same protection and service that they have given our country.

This journey requires funding. Please go to www.OperationJake.org to make a donation. Checks can also be written to BeesWELL Inc. and sent to 22-27 41st Street, Astoria, NY 11105.

We look forward to sharing our ride with you.
